Product Information
N-Chloromethyl-4-nitrophthalimide is a strain of E. coli that is insensitive to phenacyl, an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by blocking the synthesis of phenylalanine in bacteria. The cloning and expression of this gene in E. coli and Lactobacillus acidophilus has been shown to result in the production of phenylalanine and zinc sulfate, respectively. This protein can be used as a dietary supplement for animals, including humans, with intestinal problems or high temperatures.
