1,4-Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane Dihydrobromide is an inorganic compound that is a polymorph of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane dihydrobromide (1). It has two crystalline forms and the hydration of both isomers can be monitored by changes in their diffraction pattern. The first form, which has a centrosymmetric space group and monoclinic symmetry, is stable at room temperature. The second form, which has an orthorhombic space group and trigonal symmetry, is stable at high temperatures (above 100°C). This compound can be obtained as a single crystal with x-ray diffraction patterns that are symmetric about all three axes.
