Description:
ARP 100 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the extracellular domain of human angiopoietin-like protein 1 (ANGPTL1). It has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis and tumor growth, as well as increase the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapy. ARP 100 is also able to reduce cytosolic calcium levels in cancers cells. This antibody has been shown to be specific for ANGPTL1 and does not bind or inhibit other proteins, such as ANGPTL2. The mechanism of action is not yet known, but it may be due in part to its ability to interfere with the activation of matrix metalloproteinases and/or angiogenic factors. ARP 100 has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models.
