Product Information
4-Chloro-2-fluorobenzamide (4CFB) is a bactericidal agent that belongs to the group of amide antibacterials. 4CFB is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. This drug binds to the bacterial ribosome, preventing the formation of peptidoglycan, which is necessary for cell wall synthesis. The bactericidal effect has been shown in a number of bacterial strains, including Escherichia coli and Streptococcus faecalis. 4CFB also has a low level of resistance development and can be used as an alternative to first line antibiotics such as ampicillin or erythromycin.
