Product Information
- 2-Naphthalenecarboxylicacid, 4-amino-3-methyl-
4-Amino-3-methylnaphthalene-2-carboxylic acid (MMCA) is a compound that is used in the industrial production of methyl alcohol. It is synthesized by the reaction of trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride and suzuki coupling agents. MMCA can also be produced by reacting thionyl chloride with naphthalene or naphthoic acid. This reaction produces MMCA as well as nitryl chloride and hydrogen chloride, which are both highly toxic substances.
