Product Information
Methyl 2-amino-4-chloro-5-fluorobenzoate is a molecule that can inhibit the activity of hexokinases. It has been shown to bind to the active site of these enzymes, blocking their function and preventing glucose from being metabolized. The probe has also been shown to be reactive with trypanosomes and is synthetically derived from the reaction between aminoacetophenone and chloroacetonitrile. This compound has been used as a probe for validation of assays for measuring hexokinase activity in various cell lines, including human erythrocytes.
