5,6-Dimethylbenzotriazole hydrate (DBTH) is a compound that can be used to treat wastewater. It is an environmentally friendly compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of wastewater. DBTH is a water soluble, non-toxic and non-corrosive substance which can be easily removed from wastewater by precipitation with calcium chloride or sodium sulfate. DBTH has been shown to have a high efficacy for the removal of both organic and inorganic contaminants. It has been found to be particularly useful for the removal of epoxy resins, which are often used as coatings on steel pipes, concrete structures and other industrial materials. The compound is also able to remove other industrial chemicals such as benzene, phenol and methylene chloride from water supplies.
