Product Information
FLsharp™ is a phosphate, disodium salt. It is used as a fluorogenic substrate for the detection of phosphatases and other enzymes that hydrolyze phosphate esters. FLsharp™ can also be used as a chromogenic substrate, which is capable of producing an intense color with the addition of hydrogen peroxide in alkaline solution. FLsharp™ has been shown to be effective at detecting bacterial activity in culture media.
FLsharp™ is fluorescent when excited by light of an appropriate wavelength and emits light at a different wavelength. It is also bioluminescent, meaning that it can produce light through a chemical reaction without using any external energy source.
