Description

Clofencet is a herbicide that belongs to the group of chlorinated carboxylic acid derivatives. It is used as an industrial chemical in the production of textiles and other products. Clofencet is applied as a pre-emergence herbicide for controlling weeds in cereals, oats, maize, and sorghum. This product may be toxic to humans, animals, and plants. Exposure may cause irritation of skin and eyes, central nervous system depression, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness or vertigo, headache or fatigue. Clofencet inhibits plant growth by interfering with plant hormone synthesis. It specifically binds to active substances that are involved in plant growth regulation (auxins) and causes rapid breakdown of these molecules by hydrolysis.
