Aurantio-obtusin β-D-glucoside (AOBG) is a natural product that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It can inhibit the binding of the radioactive isotope, sn-38, to DNA and thus inactivates its cytotoxic activity. AOBG has been shown to be safe in clinical trials and does not affect the pharmacokinetics of other drugs. AOBG also inhibits the interaction between chemotherapeutic drugs and their targets, which is an important factor for drug resistance. This compound is a noncompetitive inhibitor that binds to a specific site on the enzyme's active site, preventing substrate binding and enzyme catalysis.
