Ethyl 2-bromo-4-chloroquinoline-3-carboxylate (EBCQ) is a halogenated organic compound that is used as a reagent in organic chemistry. It is also a naphthalene derivative and an activator of organocuprates. EBCQ has been shown to be active against fungi, such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus. In addition, it can be used to make the quinoline derivative, 4-chloroquinoline. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was conducted on the structure of EBCQ at room temperature.
