Azide-BDP-fl is a hematopoietic, antioxidant molecule that modulates the antioxidant system. It has been shown to have cancer preventive and therapeutic properties. Azide-BDP-fl is a synthetic molecule derived from pleuromutilin, a natural product found in the marine sponge Geodia gibberosa. It has been shown to inhibit death of cells by inducing cell death via an apoptosis-like mechanism. The sequences of this molecule are unknown but it contains c1-6 alkyl groups on its backbone.
