Product Information
PD 150606 is a cell-permeant small molecule that induces apoptosis in many cell types and has been shown to inhibit axonal growth, neuronal death, and myocardial infarct. PD 150606 binds to the cytosolic calcium ion channels, inhibiting their function. This inhibition causes mitochondrial dysfunction and activation of caspases, leading to apoptosis. PD 150606 has been shown to induce apoptosis in HL60 cells by inhibiting growth factor-β1-induced phosphorylation of caspase-3 and subsequent downstream events in the apoptotic pathway. In addition, PD 150606 induced an increase in calpain activity and caspase-independent cell death in HCT116 cells.
