Product Information
HPOB is a growth factor that regulates mitochondrial function. It has been shown to inhibit apoptosis in vitro and in vivo. HPOB binds to the glucocorticoid receptors by acetylation, which is important for the anti-apoptotic effect of HPOB. The x-ray crystal structures show that HPOB binds to lysine residues on the glucocorticoid receptor, which are required for its inhibitory effect on apoptosis. Furthermore, HPOB inhibits the activity of protein kinases such as p38 MAPK and JNK, suggesting that it may be a potential therapeutic agent against inflammation-related diseases.
