Description:
2-MPPA is a non-steroidal agent that has been shown to inhibit the binding of glutamate to its receptors. This drug is structurally similar to taxol and inhibits the binding of glutamate to its receptors by competing with glutamate for the active site on the receptor. 2-MPPA also has an effect on neurologic disorders, but more research is necessary. In addition, this molecule has shown promising results in animal models of cancer and diabetic neuropathy. It also acts as an antinociceptive in a rat model of constrictive pericarditis.
