4-Methylumbelliferyl a-D-arabinopyranoside is a fluorescent substrate for enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of arabinose. It can be used as a chromogenic substrate to measure the activity of beta-glucosidase, alpha-galactosidase, and alpha-mannosidase enzymes. 4-Methylumbelliferyl a-D-arabinopyranoside reacts with the enzyme to produce fluorescence in the presence of oxygen and light. It can also be used as a fluorogenic substrate to measure glucose oxidase activity in culture media. The product is also suitable for use in food testing, environmental testing, or bioluminescence reactions.
