6-Bromo-2-(trifluoromethyl)quinazolin-4-amine is a modulator of the GPR40 protein-coupled receptor. It binds to the receptor, which may lead to inhibition of protein synthesis and cell division. This compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of human platelet aggregation and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting cytokine production in macrophages. 6-Bromo-2-(trifluoromethyl)quinazolin-4-amine has also been shown to have antiproliferative activity against leukemia cells.
