2-Nitrophenyl-N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminide is a fluorescent substrate that is used to measure the activity of TNF-α. It has been shown to be expressed in a variety of tissue types, including lung and brain. In order to evaluate the profiles of 2-NPBG, it was evaluated for its sensitivity to thiazole orange, tnf-α, and various other agents. The findings from this evaluation showed that the fluorescence intensity of 2-NPBG was sensitive to tnf-α and other cell signaling molecules. The spectrum of 2-NPBG has been quantified as being between 400 nm and 500 nm. This product can be used as a base line for measuring changes in fluorescence intensity caused by TNF-α or other molecules that activate cells.
