Description:

1-[2-Nitro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidine-4-carboxamide is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been synthesized as an active analogue of aspirin. This compound is an ampk activator and has been shown to have potent antitumor activity in vitro. 1-[2-Nitro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperidine-4-carboxamide binds to a variety of biological targets, including the mitochondrial membrane potential, the NADH dehydrogenase, and the ATP synthase. This compound also inhibits energy metabolism by blocking the electron transport chain at complex I and IV. The reaction mechanism of this drug is not yet known.
