6-Bromo-3-(4-bromo-2-methyl-phenyl)-isoquinolin-1-ylamine is a structural analog of pyrazole. It has two phenyl and two naphthyl groups with a substituent on the phenyl group. The cyclization reaction is catalyzed by either acid or base catalysis. 6BRIYI can be synthesized by reacting 2-methylpropene with 4-(4'-bromophenyl)phenylamine in the presence of triethylamine and potassium tert butoxide in ethanol.
