L-Proline 7-amido-4-methylcoumarin hydrobromide salt (LPCA) is a fluorogenic substrate for esterase and phosphatase enzymes. It can be used to measure enzyme activities in animal and microbial cells. LPCA has been assayed for the specific activity of lipase, amylase, and protease in various preparations. This product has also been tested for phospholipase A2, esterases, and peptidases in various sources.
