Caraphenol A is a caffeate that is found in natural plants. It has significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells, and can be used as an anticancer drug. Caraphenol A also has anti-inflammatory properties and is effective against infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria. The caraphenol A extract from etoac (Eucalyptus tereticornis) was shown to have the ability to regenerate haematopoietic stem cells in mice. This compound can be synthesized at a scalable level using electrospray ionization quadrupole mass spectrometry. Caraphenol A is currently being tested for its use in the treatment of cancer, HIV, and malaria infections.
