Product Information
2-Amino-3-hydroxybenzaldehyde is an atypical lysine decarboxylase that functions as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial compound. It encodes the carboxylate moiety, which is essential for its antibacterial activity. The 2-Amino-3-hydroxybenzaldehyde gene (aroB) is located on chromosome 3 of Enterobacter cloacae and encodes a protein with a c-terminal domain that is responsible for the enzyme's catalytic activity. The crystal structure of this protein has been determined by X-ray crystallography and shows that it has three domains, including an N terminus, a central domain, and a C terminus. This protein also contains two histidine residues (His188 and His287), which are important for the function of the enzyme.
