Product Information
5-o-(3'-O-glucosyl-caffeoyl)quinic acid (5GCA) is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels and ligand-gated ion channels. 5GCA binds to GluR2 receptor and blocks NMDA currents in cultured rat hippocampal neurons. It was also found to be an inhibitor of voltage-gated potassium channels in Xenopus oocytes. 5GCA is a lead compound for drug development targeting epilepsy, anxiety, depression, stroke, and pain.
