AX-024 HCl is a drug designed for cancer treatment. It is a potent inhibitor of the human mismatch repair (MMR) protein, which is involved in the DNA mismatch repair process. This drug is used as a countermeasure to mismatched DNA following chemotherapy treatment in cancer patients. The inhibition of MMR activity by AX-024 HCl reduces the risk of cancer recurrence and relapse. This drug has also been shown to have anti-tumor effects on animal models and to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. In addition, this agent has been shown to be safe when administered intravenously in animals.
