Product Information
4-Bromo-1,3-benzenedicarboxaldehyde is an aldehyde that has been used as a catalyst in organic reactions. It is also known to be a product of the oxidation of benzene. The mechanism of 4-bromo-1,3-benzenedicarboxaldehyde formation is due to the interaction between benzene and oxygen with the presence of certain catalysts. In one such reaction, geotrichum candidum converts benzene into 4-bromo-1,3-benzenedicarboxaldehyde via the following steps: 1) electron transfer from NADH to benzene; 2) electron transfer from NAD+ to 4-bromobenzenediazoate; 3) reduction of 4-bromobenzenediazoate to form 4-bromo-1,3 benzenedicarboxaldehyde.
