MFZ 10-7 is a drug that has been shown to modulate the transmission of glutamate, a neurotransmitter that plays a major role in learning and memory. It has been investigated for its ability to prevent or reduce the effects of brain injury due to stroke or trauma. MFZ 10-7 is an agonist of metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 1 (mGluR1) and mGluR5. MFZ 10-7 has also been shown to be capable of attenuating cocaine effect, which may be due to its binding at the orthosteric site on glutamate receptors.
