2-Amino-5-(ethylthio)-1,3,4-thiadiazole is a compound that can be used as an oxygenated corrosion inhibitor. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with diethyl ester and chloride in the presence of deionized water. The surface-enhanced Raman technique was used for the characterization of 2-amino-5-(ethylthio)-1,3,4-thiadiazole. Vibrational spectra showed the presence of nitrogen atoms and carotenoid. The nmr spectra confirmed this by showing the presence of chloride and carotenoid.
