2-Acetyl-4-methylpyridine is a molecule that was first synthesized in 1891 and has been used for the treatment of cancer. This drug has a thiolate ligand that coordinates to metal ions such as copper, zinc, or cadmium to form complexes with centrosymmetric geometry. 2-Acetyl-4-methylpyridine is an organic compound that is related to pyridine and acetylacetone. It is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of 137°C.
