Trans-1-Amino-2-tetralol is a second-generation, protease inhibitor that has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of serine proteases. This compound is an enantiomer of the natural amino acid L-serine and is used in organic synthesis as a chiral biocatalyst. Trans-1-Amino-2-tetralol also has catalytic properties that have been shown to be useful in acylation reactions.
