Product Information
(R)-2-Amino-1-(3-chloropheyl) ethanol is a β2-adrenoceptor agonist that has a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the release of histamine from human cells. It also inhibits the binding of histamine to the h2-receptor in vivo and reduces the contractions of isolated rat stomachs induced by histamine. This drug also blocks the action of benzoic acid, an inhibitor of histamine synthesis, at high doses. (R)-2-Amino-1-(3-chloropheyl) ethanol is selective for the h2 receptor and does not activate the h1 or h4 receptors or inhibit acetylcholine release.
