Description:
2-Amino-5-iodo-6-methylpyridine is an industrial chemical that has been used as a fungicide and a microbicide. It is also used in the synthesis of other organic compounds, such as benzene and anthranilic acid. 2-Amino-5-iodo-6-methylpyridine can be toxic if ingested and may cause skin to become irritated or inflamed. The compound is corrosive to both metals and organic materials, but does not react with water. 2-Amino-5-iodo-6-methylpyridine has been found to be an effective agent against Penicillium funiculosum, Aspergillus niger, and A. ochraceus.
