Description:
4-Amino-5-chloro-N-[1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]piperidin-4-yl]-2-methoxybenzamide (CLB) is a potent inhibitor of the uptake of dopamine and norepinephrine in the central nervous system. It is also an antagonist at the D1 receptor. CLB has been used to study the role of dopamine in drug addiction and has shown that it blocks intravenous cocaine self-administration in rats. CLB also inhibits viral replication, including HIV and influenza virus. CLB binds to fascicularis, a protein found on cells infected with Hepatitis C virus, and prevents viral entry into cells.
