1-Azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-8-yl 2-[4-(fluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2-phenylacetate is a potential drug for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. This compound has been shown to have selective uptake in the caudate putamen, which is a key region of the brain that is affected by Alzheimer's disease. It also has an affinity for radiolabeled ɣ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors in this region and has shown efficacy in biochemical and cellular assays.
