Description:
2-Amino-5-trifluoromethylbenzothiazole is a calcium-activated potassium channel activator that has been shown to lower blood pressure in vivo. In vitro studies on murine models show that 2-amino-5-trifluoromethylbenzothiazole modulates the activity of voltage gated sodium channels and enhances the activation of calcium activated potassium channels. It also has neuroprotective effects in vivo, which may be due to its ability to prevent brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation.
