Ravuconazole is a triazole antifungal agent that is active against a broad spectrum of fungi. This drug inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an essential component for fungal cell membranes. The grignard reagent provides efficient and rapid access to this compound. Ravuconazole has been shown to be effective in vitro against various strains of Candida and Aspergillus species and in vivo in experimental models of candidiasis, aspergillosis, cryptococcosis, and blastomycosis. In addition, ravuconazole has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
