Description

b-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid that is used in the synthesis of proteins. It is also used as a dietary supplement to promote weight loss by increasing thermogenesis and metabolic rate, and to treat chronic fatigue syndrome. b-Alanine has been shown to have anticancer effects in some animal studies. This compound has also been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals or inhibit lipid peroxidation.
