Product Information
Atopaxar is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has potent inhibitory properties in the inhibition of thrombin. It also has chemoattractant protein activity, which may be due to its ability to activate basic fibroblast cells. Atopaxar also inhibits platelet aggregation and enhances the release of serotonin from platelets. This drug has been shown to have clinical relevance in patients with acute coronary syndromes, where it reduces the risk of cardiovascular death and myocardial infarction. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug are not well understood because it undergoes rapid metabolism by esterases in vivo.
