2-Amino-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile is an organic compound that is used as a synthetic intermediate. It is a colorless solid and has a boiling point of 361°C and freezes at -58°C. 2-Amino-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzonitrile can be synthesized by the reaction of Grignard reagents with amines, followed by reductive amination. It can also be prepared from methylamine and titanium tetrachloride, or by reduction of nitrobenzene with lithium aluminum hydride.
