5-Amino-4,6-dichloro-2-methylpyrimidine is a pyrimidine derivative that is used in the synthesis of multidrugs. It is an analogue of 5-amino-6-(5,6-dihydro)pyrazinopyrimidine and can be synthesized from anilines. 5-Amino-4,6-dichloro-2-methylpyrimidine has been used to study the kinetic mechanism of purine analogs and has been shown to have anticancer properties. This molecule also has a pharmacokinetic profile that is similar to paclitaxel, which may make it useful for the treatment of cancer.
