Description:

4-(Allyloxy)-3-methoxybenzaldehyde is a naturally occurring phenolic compound that is found in plants. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 4-(Allyloxy)-3-methoxybenzaldehyde also has the ability to inhibit the growth of fungi, such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. This molecule can be used as an antioxidant in foods and pharmaceuticals due to its natural origin and low toxicity. 4-(Allyloxy)-3-methoxybenzaldehyde may also be useful in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by sulfamethoxazole or fluconazole resistant strains of Candida albicans.
