1-(1-Adamantyl)propan-1-amine (AAPA) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to suppress inflammation. It is structurally related to the neurotransmitter dopamine and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, psoriasis, and asthma. AAPA inhibits the production of certain cytokines by the immune cells and suppresses the expression of genes involved in inflammation. This drug also has antiviral properties against viruses such as influenza virus by inhibiting viral replication at a post-transcriptional level.
