Product Information
2-Amino-7-(2-furyl)-7,8-dihydroquinazolin-5(6H)-one is a cyclase inhibitor that binds to adenosine receptors and blocks the activity of adenylyl cyclases. It has been shown to have cardiac effects in mice by inhibiting the activation of β-adrenergic receptors. 2-Amino-7-(2-furyl)-7,8-dihydroquinazolin-5(6H)-one also blocks the release of 5-hydroxytryptamine in the heart, which is responsible for causing congestive heart failure. This drug has been shown to be effective in preventing infarction in animals, as well as inhibiting pharmacologically induced arrhythmias in pigs.
