2-Amino-4-methylpyrimidine is a chemical compound that has the molecular formula C5H6N2. It is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of 137°C and a density of 1.3 g/cm3. 2-Amino-4-methylpyrimidine has been shown to be an inhibitor of borohydride reduction, which is an important reaction in the synthesis of ammonia from nitrogen and hydrogen gas.
