Product Information

[3-(Allyloxy)phenyl]amine
Synonyms:
  • 3-(allyloxy)anilinebenzenamine
  • 3-(2-propenyloxy)-
  • Benzenamine, 3-(2-Propen-1-Yloxy)-
Description:

3-(Allyloxy)phenyl]amine is a synthetic peroxide that is used as a cross-linking agent for polymers, such as elastomers and polyesters. It is also used to initiate polymerization reactions and can be found in the form of its hydrochloride salt. 3-(Allyloxy)phenyl]amine reacts with hydrogen sulfate to produce sulfuric acid. This reaction takes place in a recirculated system and the hydrogen sulfate is removed from the reactor before it enters the reactor again. The product of this reaction is then reacted with maleic anhydride or succinic anhydride to produce a polyester or polyurethane resin, respectively. 3-(Allyloxy)phenyl]amine can be found in residue on equipment used for these reactions.
