- butanamide, N-(3-aminophenyl)-
N-(3-Aminophenyl)butanamide is a biochemical that modulates the actin filament. It has been shown to increase the number of fluorescent actin filaments in a cell, as well as inhibit platelet activation and thrombin receptor activity. N-(3-Aminophenyl)butanamide also inhibits the release of calcium ions by acting as an ionophore, which is an agent that increases the permeability of membranes to ions. This drug has been shown to have many effects on granule secretion in activated platelets. It can be used in biochemical assays, such as those designed to measure platelet activation and thrombin receptor activity.
