1-Amino-3-methoxypropan-2-ol (1AMP) is an organic molecule that contains one amine group and three carbonyl groups. 1AMP can be reductively cleaved to form an aldehyde and a ketone, which can then react to form a dimer. 1AMP also reacts with glyoxal (a reactive carbonyl compound) to form the radical species 2,4-dinitroimidazole, which can be used as a radiosensitizer for cancer treatment. Radicals produced from 1AMP disproportionate in the presence of radiation, forming two molecules of 1AMP. Misonidazole is a drug that inhibits the growth of cells by blocking their ability to synthesize DNA. It binds to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, preventing them from maintaining the integrity of bacterial DNA. Misonidazole has been shown to have anti-cancer effects when combined
