Product Information
- cyclohexanecarboxamide
- 1-amino-
1-Aminocyclohexanecarboxamide is a drug that has been shown to bind to the active site of the chloride ion channel, which is found in neurons. This binding blocks the flow of ions that are responsible for transmitting signals from one neuron to another, causing an interruption in neurotransmission. 1-Aminocyclohexanecarboxamide has been shown to have strong activity against pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures and electroshock convulsions in mice. The molecular modeling study shows that 1-aminocyclohexanecarboxamide binds with high affinity to the S5 segment of the α-subunit of voltage-gated sodium channels.
1-Aminocyclohexanecarboxamide also inhibits branched chain amino acid transport by competitive inhibition, which prevents the synthesis of proteins by cells.
