Description

2-Aminoisonicotinohydrazide is a drug used for the diagnosis of bronchial cancer. It can be detected in plasma concentrations, which are subtherapeutic and maximized by acid hydrazide. 2-Aminoisonicotinohydrazide is metabolized by N-acetyltransferase to form nicotinamide and isonicotinic acid. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug are affected by interactions with drugs such as carbamazepine, leading to nonresponsiveness to treatment or an increase in side effects. 2-Aminoisonicotinohydrazide can also be used to monitor the progress of neuroendocrine tumours and oncology patients who are taking other medications, such as anticonvulsants.
