1-Aminocyclohexanecarbonitrile hydrochloride (1ACHC) is a synthetic cannabinoid that has shown antagonistic activities against tetronic acid in prostate hyperplasia and cancer cells. 1ACHC binds to the CB1 receptor and inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are inflammatory molecules. 1ACHC also inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells in vitro, but does not inhibit proliferation of normal prostate cells. The affinity of 1ACHC for the CB1 receptor is higher than that of other cannabinoids, such as THC. In addition, 1ACHC is a prodrug that can be converted in vivo to its active form by hydrolysis.
